Erica Jones (2017) is a forward who can create from the high post or low block from Southaven (MS) High School. Erica dominates the offensive and defensive boards even posting a 20-20 game last school season. She has a vast array of moves from a quick turnaround jumper to a soft jump hook to a deadly mid range shot. The scariest thing is that she is quickly developing a consistent three point shot to go along with her already impressive offensive skill set. At 6’0 with arms that stretch for days and high vertical leap; did I mention she is grabbing the rim, makes her a tenacious shot blocker with superior timing. A great student off the court as well winning numerous Scholar Athlete awards. Her best attribute is that she seems to make the right play whether its the extra pass, hustling for the loose ball or simply outworking everyone else on the court; she does these little things consistently. Defensively she can play the top of the defensive and clog up passing lanes for ball handlers or guard the other team’s best post player one on one on the block having that type of versatility allows her to easily transition from the 3 to the 5 seamlessly. With her drive to excel and already gifted skill set she will be a force on the next level.
